Where can you find accurate and reliable health information online? And how can you spot potentially harmful misinformation? It’s becoming increasingly difficult in today’s online world to know which sources of health information to trust. Maria Avery, the Community Outreach Manager for UVM Libraries, is here to help. Watercolor Popsicle Postcards for Beginners
If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at painting with watercolors, here’s your chance. In this workshop we’ll create popsicle themed postcards that you can send to friends or display at home. Color: How it Affects You and Your Home
What is the color of royalty? Why is green associated with poison? How does color affect our emotions? Do we need to think about how we use color in our home?
Betsey Dempsey, color expert of Color Concepts, will talk a bit about the history of color, how different colors impact us and how to use color to make our homes feel the way we want. Betsey will teach us the most important factors when picking paint colors, and leave us with some great tips and tricks.

Get ready for summer bike riding and decorate your bike for the 4th of July at this fun and informative event for all ages! The Carpenter-Carse Library parking lot will be sectioned off for bike riders to drop in and decorate bikes for the 4th, enjoy snacks, visit with friends, and practice bike riding skills that may have grown rusty. If you have unwanted art and craft supplies you’d like to pass along or you’re looking to pick up some new supplies at no cost, then come and share with other patrons.
We’ll supply the space to display your donations and anything not swapped must be taken with you at the end. You’re not required to donate anything, you’re welcome to just “shop”.

Reptiles and Amphibians of Chittenden County
Calling all herp enthusiasts! Ever wonder which reptiles and amphibians can be found in our area? Herpetologist Kate Kelly will share some of the common reptiles and amphibians found in Chittenden County, especially Hinesburg. Her talk will cover species identification, natural history, and conservation. Kate works with the Vermont Reptile and Amphibian Atlas and is chair of the Hinesburg Conservation Commission.
